Plans
What am I planning to do in the future? I shall live in a house with my fiancee, my friend and lover, and my two dogs ~ mine and his. One male, one female. She is my shadow and he is his. They are soul-mates and shall marry when we marry. He shall wear a black bow tie to cover his white fur and black patches, blotchy helmet covering his head, and she shall wear a white wedding dress or white viel. Until then they shall breath the fresh air of freedom with 1,000m² land and we shall do the same in the other 1,000, doing gardening, painting the walls of the house, the fence etc. We also want to make a terrace and put a large or medium wood table in the middle with comfy chairs to chill in. Also a pond will be built big enough for the dogs and us to fit in at the same time. So we cannot have fish. But we’re definitely going to put bronze or stone Buddha statue and waterfall by the pond and perhaps a couple of other statues scattered under trees, on the terrace or elsewhere. Thus shall be our garden.
The house is a nice smallish size with a hall, kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. Each room is nearly of the same size. Esp. the bathroom which has an old boiler, a sink, cupboard, seperate loo attached with a sliding door within, and my favourite.. a great big bath! Of course this was the ultimate dream of mine, to have a house with a bath in it again, as I cannot really do with only a shower. I don’t mind showers, but soaking for 20mins in a bath everyday, adding scented oils, salts or other relaxants, is just the ultimate peace for me. We live in a land-locked country here in Austria and if you want to swim, you must either go to an indoor pool, which I rather despise, to someones private swimming pool, like my mothers’ e.g. or to the Old Danube, which is not everyone’s thing, as when the few hot days do finally arrive, they arrive with a thump and everyone and thing dashes to the Old Danube to escape the heat. I take a cold bath. When I have one, that is. A cold shower does the same trick, but that’s not really everyone’s thing.
The house needs to be renovated. Cleaned and aired. Next job is to somehow get a better kitchen up as the one in it right now is falling apart. And we don’t want that. No. Now do we? The furniture has been decided on; we just need to re-construct it after the move next Thursday, and set it up where we chose. I want a sort of Ikea-type room, clean and colourful. There should be lots of sunshine in the house, the kitchen gets the morning light and the bedroom the afternoon. But we should have good light throughout all day hopefully. In front of the house is a garden patch, where I hope to plant vegetables, flowers or herbs, equally as for behind the house, where the main door is, at that patch, but that, depending on which plants are suitable for which areas. We want it to have its own ecosystem, so what is planted where must be planned out very carefully beforehand. For example, where plants go that attract butterflies, repel mosquitoes and bees, need light or need shade, etc. Which vegetables must be changed every year to nourish the soil (I’m no expert in gardening, so am not yet familiar with annuals, bi-annuals etc.), but I did learn about the green revolution in school and crop harvesting or whatever it’s called..! So there’ll be a lot to learn and do for me! Egon will be working on the house, and I’ll be responsible for the garden. That’s what I want. I want to get more rooted with the earth and see things grow again. I want to dry and prepare herbs to use in various ways like in vinegar, oil, perhaps even in candles and soaps. If we have any luck, we’re planning to sell them in baskets or bunches for a living. That might be our next business. Or we shall open another business. Egon has his ideas, I need to develop mine. Flower-pressing is also one of them. We have a seperate work building next to the house, so we can use that to work in. Like a workroom or workshop, where we can store items and have space to create them. I want to do a lot.
So those are some of my plans. If any of them get done, then I’ll be happy. If you want to visit, pls write to us and come along. We will be an open house with lots to do and welcome helpers or just visitors. Of course it’s esp. open-house for the family, who know who they are.
